Alopecia areata is a common cause of facial hair loss. In some cases, the condition responds to topical treatments. Moreover, in some other immunological conditions, facial hair loss is observed. Follicle Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant is the definitive treatment for such conditions. In the first stage, a suitable donor site is identified. Follicle units are extracted with the extractor machine. Each unit consists of 1-4 hair follicles. In the second stage, under local anaesthesia, small incisions are made on the area and the grafts are placed in the incised area.
